Maggie’s work is rooted in her observation and visceral experience of living in the depths of Cornwall. One can see references in her work to the colours, forms and levels of energy that are clearly visible and felt in the area of Penwith in which she lives. However her work is not a visual representation of any one scene or land form. The memories she holds of the colours, lines and forms are a catalyst for her to manipulate and play with, to create a feeling of unbounded energy and atmosphere.
Maggie has been producing work since the 1980’s and has participated in numerous exhibitions and has had work sold at art fairs and galleries in Sussex, London, Bath and Bristol. She is also a teacher working as a painting tutor both privately and at West Dean Conservation College and previously at Northbrook College in Sussex.
